Getting to the #DataFestival2019
By public transport: You can reach our event location with all S-Bahn lines (S1 – S8) and can choose between the stop “Isartor” and “Rosenheimer Platz”. At the S-Bahn stations, please follow the signs to “Muffathalle”. Alternatively you can use tram line 16, stop “Deutsches Museum” or “Am Gasteig” as well as lines 15/25, stop “Rosenheimer Platz”.
By car: If you are travelling by car, drive in the direction of the city centre and “Deutsches Museum” or “Gasteig”.
Parking is available: Bicycles can be parked in the bicycle stands in the entrance area of the site. However, various parking garages can be used nearby:
Gasteig Rosenheimer Str. 5, 81677 Munich;
Hilton Munich City Hotel Rosenheimer Str. 15, 81677 Munich;
Holiday Inn Munich – City Centre Hotel Hochstr. 3, 81669 Munich
At the parking garage of the Gasteig, entry is possible until midnight, exit at any time; from midnight, however, access is exclusively via the gate in Kellerstraße. Fees vary depending on the time of day, parking garage and parking time.
Motorcycles can be parked free of charge.
For persons with reduced mobility, there are 10 designated parking spaces available free of charge at the Müller’schen Volksbad and 19 in the Gasteiggarage for visitors with a disabled pass (marked “aG”) or a blue parking pass.

Important information for workshop participants on March 19th:
The workshops will take place at Sofitel München Bayerpost (Bayerstraße 12, 80335 München) in the immediate vicinity of Munich Central Station.
Evening location on April 20th:
Our legendary Data Festival Party will take place this year directly in the Muffatwerk, more precisely – in the Ampere (or our Festival Stage). This way we can go directly from the conference to the party without changing location.
Should I print my ticket?
Since we are trying to work almost paperless this year, the QR code can be shown on the mobile phone, otherwise it is also possible to bring the printed ticket.
Is there a cloakroom or locker available?
There is a cloakroom available on site where all jackets or items can be handed in. However, no liability is accepted for the storage of personal belongings.
Is on-site catering included?
The ticket already includes food and refreshments – this also applies to our legendary Data Festival Party including dinner and drinks.
Is there a dress code?
No – we think everyone should dress as he or she feels most comfortable.
Where can I find your event app?
We offer an event app for our Data Festival 2019 that provides you with any kind of information you may need, directions as well as the option to rate our presentations. You can download the app via this link: bit.ly/DataFestival19
Is there Wi-Fi available?
Of course we offer WLAN access on site – the login data can be taken from the badges on site.
When can I enter the Muffatwerk in the morning at the earliest?
We open the Muffatwerk for registration one hour before the first performance.
Where can I find support regarding information on site? e.g. location plan, information on the lectures etc.?
On site we offer extensive information material, from which the most important information can be taken. In addition, you can contact our staff at any time and get the information you need.
Is the Muffatwerk barrier-free?
The Muffatwerk is barrier-free. There may be restrictions when visiting Workshop Studios 1 and 2.
Do I have to register for individual lectures in the Muffatwerk?
The regular lectures can be attended without registration. For participation in the workshops on 20 and 21 March, registration by e-mail by 15 March 2019 is recommended – we have sent you an e-mail to this effect. If the maximum number of 20 participants per workshop has not yet been reached at the time of the Data Festival, participation can still be organised on site with our staff.
Is my ticket transferable to other persons in case of illness or similar serious cases?
If you are unable to attend the Data Festival due to illness or any other emergency, please contact us directly by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
How can I identify myself as a participant and gain access to the festival grounds?
We distribute wristbands and badges when registering – these allow access to the grounds.
Are the lectures in German or English?
The majority of our lectures and panels are held in English – a few in German. The language can be found in our programme on the website behind the title of the presentation (EN) and (DE), or is also derived from the language of the title itself).
Can I smoke on site?
Yes – there are two smoking areas in the Muffatwerk: one in front of the main entrance, the other in front of the entrance to the Festival Stage.
Are there vegetarian or vegan options?
Yes – we offer various vegetarian options. There are also vegan options: salads and cold or warm finger food.
Are dogs or other pets allowed in the Muffatwerk?
As much as we like dogs and other animals – unfortunately they are not allowed in the location.
