Cookies

Our Internet pages use so-called cookies in several places. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser. They serve to make our offer more user-friendly, effective and secure. Furthermore, cookies enable our systems to recognize your browser and offer you services. Cookies do not contain any personal data.

Use of the remarketing or “similar target groups” function of Google Inc.

The provider uses on the website the remarketing or “similar target groups” function of Google Inc. (“Google”). This function allows the provider to target advertisements to visitors of the website by placing personalized, interest-based advertisements for visitors to the provider’s website when they visit other websites on the Google Display Network. In order to carry out the analysis of website usage, which forms the basis for the creation of interest-related advertisements, Google uses so-called cookies. For this purpose, Google saves a small file with a sequence of numbers in the browsers of the website visitors. This number is used to record visits to the website and anonymous data about the use of the website. There is no storage of personal data of the website visitors. If you visit a different website on the Google Display Network below, you will see ads that are highly likely to include previously visited product and information areas.

You can permanently disable Google’s use of cookies by following the link below and downloading and installing the plug-in provided there: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin?hl=en

Alternatively, you can disable the use of cookies by third parties by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative’s Network Advertising Initiative disabling page at http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ and implementing the opt-out information referred to therein.

For more information about Google Remarketing and Google’s privacy policy, please see the Google Privacy Policy.

Using the Remarketing Function of the ExactTarget

We use the remarketing function of the email service provider ExactTarget, Inc. 20 North Meridian Street Suite 200 Indianapolis, Indiana 46204 USA (“ExactTarget”). If you have agreed to receive our newsletter and visit our website via a newsletter, cookies are used. This enables us to track the effectiveness of our newsletters, e. g. whether you have opened an e-mail or which part of the newsletter was particularly interesting.

ExactTarget also uses web beacons in the majority of e-mails sent by ExactTarget. Web beacons (also known as ClearGIFs or count pixels) are small graphics (approx. 1×1 large GIF files) that are used, among other things, on websites or in HTML e-mails to help website operators better understand how visitors interact with the website. Web beacons perform similar functions to cookies, but are unnoticeable to the user. In particular, web beacons can be used to obtain information about whether the e-mail has been opened and whether the user’s system is capable of receiving HTML e-mails. No personal data is collected via the Web Beacon.

If you do not want to receive e-mail messages with web beacons, you can opt to receive your e-mails in text form (not in HTML format). Web beacons are used together with cookies. You can therefore prevent the use of web beacons by preventing the installation of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly. However, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of our website.

Use of Facebook Remarketing

The provider uses on the website the remarketing function “Custom Audiences” of Facebook Inc. 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). By means of this function, the provider can target the visitors of the website with targeted advertising by placing personalized, interest-based Facebook ads for visitors of the website when they visit the social network Facebook. To carry out the function, the remarketing tag of Facebook is implemented on the provider’s website.

With this tag, a direct connection to the Facebook servers is established when you visit the website. This tells the Facebook server which of our web pages you have visited. Facebook assigns this information to your personal Facebook account. For more information about Facebook’s collection and use of the information, including your rights and ways to protect your privacy, please see Facebook’s Privacy Notice at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/ If you do not want Facebook to associate the collected information directly with your Facebook account, you can disable the remarketing feature “Custom Audiences” here. To do so, you must be logged in to Facebook.

Use of Google Adwords Conversion Tracking

We use the online advertising program “Google AdWords” and, within the framework of Google AdWords, conversion tracking. Google Conversion Tracking is an analysis service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA;”Google”).

When you click on an ad placed by Google, a conversion tracking cookie is placed on your computer. These cookies have a limited validity, do not contain any personal data and are therefore not used for personal identification.

If you visit certain pages on our website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we may recognize that you have clicked on the ad and have been redirected to that page. Every Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. This means that there is no way that cookies can be tracked by AdWords customers’ websites.

The information gathered using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. This tells customers the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a conversion tagged page. However, you will not receive any information that personally identifies users.

If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can object to this use by preventing the installation of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly (possibility of deactivating cookies). They are then not included in the conversion tracking statistics. Further information and Google’s privacy statement can be found at: http://www.google.de/policies/privacy/

Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, if you activate the IP anonymization on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google within Member States of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases the full IP address is transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide further services associated with website use and internet use to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link[ http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en].

Use of Facebook plug-ins

These Internet pages use plug-ins from the social network facebook. com, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”).

When you access websites with such a plug-in on our website, a connection is established to the Facebook servers and the plug-in is displayed on the website by sending a message to your browser. This tells the Facebook server which of our web pages you have visited. If you are logged in as a Facebook member, Facebook assigns this information to your personal Facebook account. When using the plug-in functions (e. g. clicking the “Like me” button, posting a comment) this information will also be associated with your Facebook account, which you can only prevent by logging out before using the plug-in.

If you do not want Facebook to associate the collected information directly with your Facebook profile, you must either log out before visiting our Facebook page or block the loading of Facebook plug-ins on our websites by using a Facebook blocker.

For more information about Facebook’s collection and use of the data, including your rights and ways to protect your privacy, please see Facebook’s Privacy Notice: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php

When you access a website with the “+1” button on our website, a connection is established to the Google servers in the USA and the button is displayed on the website by sending a message to your browser. Both your IP address and the information you have visited on our website are transmitted to the Google server. This applies regardless of whether you are registered or logged in to Google Plus. Also with not registered and/or not logged in users a transfer takes place. The “+1” button is not used to register your visits to the Internet. Google does not permanently log your browsing history when you display a “+1” button and does not evaluate your visit to a page with “+1” button in any other way. Google stores about two weeks of data about your visit for system maintenance and troubleshooting purposes. However, this data is not structured according to individual profiles, user names or URLs and will not be passed on to us.

If you are also a member of Google Plus and logged in to Google Plus while using the plugin, the information collected will be linked to your Google Plus account via your website visit and shared with other users. Also in case of interactions, which are possible with the different Google Plugins, the corresponding information about you is collected and sent to Google and stored. An overview of the different types of Google Plugins can be found here:

https://developers.google.com/+/plugins

If you have made your profile publicly available in Google Plus settings, Google may include your “+1” in Google services, such as search results or your Google profile, or in other places on websites and ads on the Internet, along with your profile name and photo. If you do not want Google to associate the collected information directly with your Google Plus profile, you must log out before visiting our Google Plus page.

For more information on Google’s collection and use of the data, including your rights and options for protecting your privacy, please see Google’s privacy policy: www.google.com/intl/de/+/policy/+1button. html.
